2025 GrandFriends Day

 

Dear GrandFriends,

 

We hope you had a wonderful summer with your family and friends!

 

Mountain Brook Elementary (MBE) will host its annual GrandFriends Day on Friday, September 12, 2025. Your MBE student received a hard copy of the invitation at Meet the Teacher. 

 

Please click the link below to register.  If you are visiting more than one student, please enter each student's information on a separate line. All GrandFriends must pre-register to attend this event. Registration closes on Tuesday, September 2nd. 

 

After registering, we invite you to visit our website and consider becoming a 2025 - 2026 GrandLancer Sponsor to support MBE's playground turf renovation!  100% of the GrandLancer contributions will go directly towards playground turf renovations and enhancements.

Become a GrandLancer to Support MBE!

 

This year’s GrandLancer Campaign will help fund a portion of the renovations to MBE’s playground turf. 100% of the students at MBE last year played on MBE's playground. Between daily PE and recess classes, each child plays outside almost an hour each day. With our student population, that is over 500 hours a day, 2500 hours a week, 10,000 hours a month of children playing on our playgrounds, fields, and specialty outdoor areas. 

 

Our playgrounds, fields, and specialty areas are accessible to all students in grades PreK through 6th grade during the school day and then used after school hours and on weekends by the community. We love that our school can provide an outdoor experience for students and families looking to connect and enjoy outdoor exercise seven days a week! This time spent playing outside benefits our children physically, mentally, and socially.

 

In an effort to assist MBE with partial funding of the playground turf renovations, we have created levels of giving for our GrandLancer Campaign to offer our grandparents and friends an opportunity to be more involved at our school. Any donation at $250 and above invites you, as a GrandLancer, to attend a special breakfast later in the year.

What is a GrandLancer?
A GrandLancer can be a grandparent, neighbor, or special friend - anyone other than a parent - that would like to support MBE.

 

What will the GrandLancer Donations be used for in 2025-2026?
100% of the funds raised will go directly to MBE to support the funding of the playground turf renovations. 

 

Will I get a tax-deductible donation receipt?
Yes, after you pay online, a receipt will be generated to your email.  If you pay via check, a receipt will be emailed to you.
